We Support:
It is with great regret and a heavy heart that we have to announce the recent sudden and tragic passing of Katie Williams aged 13.
Katie had been an avid participant of our Soccability squad for the past three seasons and looked forward to her sessions at Belfairs or St.Thomas moore.
Along with her father Robin, who has been a great help at these sessions ,she would always start the session with a smile and a" how are you hoooo" and she was able to show what a strong willed young lady she was, never slow in coming forward to tell which coach was " allowed" to be her partner.
Having gained the confidence over a period of time despite being in a wheelchair, she would always try to spend time walking as much as possible to score the odd goal or two
Robin continues to help coach the U13s B team in which his son Michael plays as well as wanting to continue his coaching with Soccability.
At this very difficult time our thoughts are with Katie's parents Laura, Robin and brother Michael.
Having spoken to Robin , he wishes all to celebrate Katie's life

Some of the County's grassroots workforce were treated to an all-expenses-paid day out at Wembley Stadium for the FA Community Shield fixThe group, hosted by Council Members Alec Berry and Eddie Rhymes, were picked from a number of worthy nominations for the awards last month, which also recognised the best of the Internet through club and league website awards. They were rewarded for their constant endeavours with the trip to North London for the Shield match, the traditional curtain-raiser to the English football season, which United won 3-1.ture between Chelsea and Manchester United on Sunday after claiming Volunteer and Website of the Year Awards from the Essex County FA.
Mark Holmes of Leigh Ramblers YFC and the South-East Essex Primary Mini-Soccer League won and was represented by fellow Committee Members Ernie Franklin and Tony Allan from the League as his club were coincidentally enjoying a Wembley day out of their own as part of the FA Charter Standard Programme.
Mark Holmes (Leigh Ramblers YFC/South-East Essex Primary Mini-Soccer League): "I do enjoy it, although it can get a bit manic at weekends but football's in the blood! I was surprised about the award and, like everyone else involved in grassroots football, we do it for the love not the rewards. I'd like to thank my wife, Mandy, who puts up with me and helps out and also the club members who help make my job a lot easier. I see this as an award for the club, further raising the profile of Leigh Ramblers YFC."
The nomination received on Mark's behalf stated: "Mark has rebuilt Leigh Ramblers from only one team to 29 over the last ten years and has been Club Secretary as well as running a team for his son which has just progressed to adult football with Ramblers. He has also been coaching two other teams at the weekends because he wants as many players as possible to be given the chance to play football. The club have also gone forward and achieved FA Charter Standard Community status, something I know he is proud of."
